Welcome to Ribbons Rising: A Mission of Hope and Support Hello and welcome to the inaugural blog post of Ribbons Rising! My name is Kristen D’Angelo, and I am honored to introduce you to the heart and mission behind this foundation. As a breast cancer survivor, my journey has shaped my passion for helping others facing similar battles. Diagnosed while raising three small children, I experienced firsthand the immense challenges of undergoing treatment, surgeries, and recovery—all while trying to maintain a sense of normalcy for my family. During that time, I realized something crucial: no one should have to face cancer alone. The Birth of Ribbons Rising When I recovered, I knew my purpose was to create a nonprofit that would provide meaningful support to those navigating the uncertainties of a cancer diagnosis. That dream became Ribbons Rising, an organization dedicated to empowering and assisting individuals and families at all stages of cancer. Our goal is simple yet profound: to lighten the burden for those in need by offering financial assistance, emotional support, and essential services that make their journey a little easier. How We Support Our Community We recognize that cancer affects every aspect of life, which is why Ribbons Rising offers a range of services and programs designed to provide relief and hope: Financial Assistance : Helping individuals cover costs related to treatment, transportation, and essential care. Counseling Services : Providing emotional and mental health support to those battling cancer and their families. Childcare Support : Assisting parents undergoing treatment by covering childcare expenses. Meal Support : Ensuring patients and families have access to nutritious meals during treatment and recovery. Community Support Programs : Connecting individuals through support groups, workshops, and events to foster encouragement and healing. Cutting-Edge Research Support : Funding advancements in cancer research to help find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
