Kristen D'Angelo
Founder, Board Chair and Executive Director
After facing breast cancer as a young adult, Kristen D’Angelo turned her journey into purpose by founding Ribbons Rising—a nonprofit devoted to helping families rise through the challenges of cancer. Her mission is rooted in compassion, hope, and the belief that no one should face cancer alone.
Michael D'Angelo
Board Member
Mike D’Angelo brings a strong sense of community, leadership, and compassion to the Ribbons Rising Board of Directors. As both a dedicated father and husband, Mike witnessed firsthand the challenges families face during a cancer diagnosis and became deeply committed to supporting Ribbons Rising’s mission.
Professionally, Mike has a background in construction and business development, and he uses his organizational skills and hands-on approach to help grow the nonprofit’s community outreach and fundraising efforts. His passion lies in building connections that make a real difference for families in need.
Outside of Ribbons Rising, Mike enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time with his family, always leading by example with kindness and service.
Austin Walker
Board Member
Austin Walker is the CEO and Managing Principal of A. Walker & Co., with extensive experience in real estate finance and capital markets. Inspired by his mother’s breast cancer journey, Austin is passionate about supporting families facing cancer and empowering communities through compassion and action.
Melissa Principi
Board Member
Melissa Principi is the Principal Broker of The Principi Team at Douglas Elliman. She brings both professionalism and compassion to everything she does. Melissa has firsthand experience supporting a loved one through cancer, helping her family navigate her father’s diagnosis and treatment with strength and dedication.
A dear friend and early supporter of Ribbons Rising, Melissa has been part of the organization’s journey from the very beginning. When she is not sharing Ribbons Rising's mission she can be found wrangling her two adorable boys.
